Weatherization Program – Accounting and Contracts Manager

The Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) is seeking qualified candidates for a Weatherization Program Accounting and Contracts Manager. This position will be located in Denver, Colorado and will be responsible for managing a $40 million yearly budget for the weatherization program. In addition, this position will provide fiscal and contractual oversight for all weatherization sub-grantees on all fiscal policy or program activities.

Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. has articulated a strong vision for Colorado’s New Energy Economy, a vision with progressive economic, environmental, and energy goals. The mission of the GEO is to advance the New Energy Economy in Colorado. The GEO’s Weatherization Program is a direct manifestation of this commitment and is tasked with cost effectively improving the energy efficiency of all low-income homes in Colorado with the highest quality services possible.

Low-income energy consumers represent a unique challenge when it comes to household investments in energy efficiency. Due to limited discretionary income, these households are not as able to respond to price signals and incentives as other households. At the same time, the burden of energy costs upon household income is much greater. To assist this population, the GEO’s Weatherization Program provides a range of free and high-quality energy efficiency services to income-qualified households, from high efficiency light bulbs to appliance replacement to insulation and air sealing measures.

The Accounting and Contracts Manager will be the primary financial management resource for the weatherization program and requires direct involvement with local weatherization partners. All applicants must have the ability to travel to throughout Colorado to provide fiscal monitoring on a regular basis.
